We proceed with a Stage-gate process

When rigorously applied, Stage-gate approach will ensure business objectives & project objectives are completely aligned prior to investment sanction and execution phases.

Scoping (FEL1)

Define Business Objectives
  • Do I have a relevant and business case?
  • Do I have my business objectives clear?
  • Do I have relevant options/opportunities laid out

Timelines

This can take 1-3 months and varies with the project complexity.

Pre Feasibility (FEL2)

Translate business objectives into project objectives
  • Can I execute this project to deliver the business case?
  • Is this investment profitable for the business?
  • What are the different options do deliver the scope?

Timelines: 2-4 months with independent reviewers.

Feasibility (FEL3)

Define the project objectives to deliver business objectives
  • How, by when and with what resources can I execute the project?
  • What is the NPV of the project?
  • What are all plans that constitute the Project Execution Plan?

Timelines:

3-6 month (Large multi-disciplinary team).

Execution

Implement the project, consistent with scope, cost & schedule
  • Is the project being executed according to scope, schedule & cost?

Timelines

Depending on the project size.

Commissioning & Ramping up

Operate and develop business objectives.
